First time user here, and I'm trying to get through my first installation.

Have tried on my web hosting, and locally using MAMP.

Get to step 7 of the install, and then all i see is a continue button on screen, when i press this i get brought back to step 2 of the install. Tried it a few times but to no avail.

Any ideas?

I want my categories and Links on my home page, I read the FAQ about it, but I think the FAQ is an old version.. I don't find the files in the directories mentioned in the faq.. and also the file catlist_element_main_dir.tpl doesn't exist..

So how put the categories and links on my home page in version 4.3.0?

I am trying to set up my first inportal site on Hostgator web hosting. I successfully have inportal running locally on my Windows 7 laptop. So what I tried to do to publish my site to the server is:
1. Copied (ftp) all my files up to the server
2. Took an export on my database and imported into new database on server
3. Updated the file \in-portal\system\config.php to use my server settings
4. I noticed in Windows all table names in the database were lower case, I renamed them into camel case on the server. Not sure if this is necessary but I found with other CMS's that is needed.

I tried the site but get this error:
Fatal Error: Include file for class CategoryHelper (/home/xxxx/public_html\core\units\helpers\category_helper.php) does not exists in /home/xxxx/public_html/core/kernel/utility/factory.php on line 223

I have the in-link module installed too.

I am very new in in-portal and I don't have more idea about its admin section. I gone through the forum but i didn't got any solved answer for my problem.

Problem:
How can i hide the features in-link directory list from the search?

Since when i am searching car it is showing shopping cart directory.
Similarly if i am searching ss solution it is showing Forgot password notification, private message sent, list private message..

Is there any setting or permission i have to set, so that these directory will not show on search result?

Догадываюсь что надо изменить Permissions файлов, вот только каких? и какие права ставить.

I am new here. I installed in-portal, without problems. The Installer goes through the Process without any errors. The final Check shows, that my file-permissions are correct. But then it don't goes further. When I try to access the Site or the Admin Area I get:

quite few years ago, we bought in-portal with directoy management (version 2). Till now, worked without bigger problem. Now we are moving to new server and we want to upgrade to latest version. Is this even possible? If not, can we backup old data and import it to new installation?

i just upgraded from 4.3.0 to 4.3.1 then to 5.0.0 to 5.1.3.

now when going to main website page i get this error :

I need tu upgrade from 4.3.0 to latest 5.1.3.

i then try to upgrade to 4.3.1 and 4.3.9 first.

I sent all new files to my server and then run http://www.yourdomain.com/admin/install.php

I then don't know what to do....

i don't see any upgrade option...

I only see maintenance options below:

Clean out the In-Portal database and reinstall
Clean out the In-Portal database and reinstall from backup
Install to a new database
Update License Information
Change Database Configuration
Fix Paths

could anyone help me upgrading?

It apparently makes a directory of members, but I can't figure out how to call the page and it doesn't appear that any In-Portal pages link to it. Does anyone know how to do this so I can check it out and see if I want to include this feature?

i installed on my system in-portal with in-link module
I have 3 question:
1.at install i selected advanced theme, because with default theme does't work, but at security check point, my page is blank. why?

when a user signs up i notice that they are able to add links (and articles) that post immediately with no review.

It says "suggest link" or what not. I want to be able to review the link or article that a user who signs up posts. Is there a way that links and article can be "pending review" I see no such option? Seems like an important function... does this function exist? Am I missing something?

Also is there information somewhere that shows the explanations for settings etc.. this seems to really be lacking and I would not have to ask so many questions if there was just some kind of manual or SOMETHING... I hate having to badger you guys every time I come across something!]]>

How do I change the default location for the shopping cart forms? All the default dropdown fields for customer registration, billing and shipping location are set to USA with states but we run a UK only store and the dropdowns will not let the user select United Kingdom and a UK county/state and postcode.

Also where can we find the email templates? They all say funds must come from a US bank and we do not operate in the US.

I also notice that they change over time?
I made some changes to a file like above.. and later that afternoon the changes disappeared?! Whats up with that!

I notice a style.css in platform/inc/ - I changed that to how I wanted it, but the changes did not happen...

Can SOMEONE please tell me what is the deal with the css files in the advanced theme.. it is really annoying to make changes then have them disappear.... is there some kind of caching going on a regeneration of stylesheets?

Where do I make PERMANENT changes to the stylesheet.

I have tried to upload a short clip which is WMV format. It gives me an error with "Invalid file format". You are absolutely right what I am looking for that is the inline video play. We've not had the new products feature active on our site for a while but I've come to put it back in, to appear on the home page but am getting no-where... I get the phrase label appear, or, if I use the products_new_list.tpl I get the sort header but no new products appear on the page.

I've set 3 new products in the catalog to be new and these appear fine in the standalone new products page but not on the index. I'm using the following code to call the template - am i using the wrong one?:

I looked around for an answer.. have not found it.

using the advanced theme with inlink... I am trying to edit the detailed link page.
I can't find it anywhere...

I am trying to remove the "request information" box and also change the size of the primary picture thumbnail... I was able to change the thumbnail size in the list of links.. but not on the individual detailed link page... is there anywhere that has a tutorial on the advanced theme?

I an running and modding the advanced theme.
Couple things...

in the admin panels i see the tree structure under "platform" in red folders with many pages.. like checkout and billing etc.. and a lot more.

My issue is 2 things regarding categories...
The platform pages all show up in a search.. billing pages show up and such.. something I do not want a user to see. How do I keep them from being included in the search?

Also... regarding categories.. I have 2 categories added for testing, and when it shows them in the directory listing it shows the 2 categories, but says total 148 categories .... so it is counting all of the "platform" pages also..

So the real thing I am asking, is how do keep the script from including those platform pages... They are in red in the admin.. are not shown in menu, but still are counted as normal categories which they should not be..

I am sure you know what I am talking about.

I really need remedy this.. I can not run the site the way it includes all the platform pages as is does now

I would not need as much help, but there is no user documentation for this version of the script.. which would be so useful!
