Possible Bug When Saving Setting? (7)

Hi,

I am trying to configure my directory. I don't want contact forms to show up when clicking on a website in the directory. I tried the following:

1. In admin, I went to the Directory section in the tree, clicked on output and unchecked the box next to "Enable Link Contact Forms"

2. When I press save I get a message that says "Select Module Root Section: Home".

3. I press save again and get a message that says "Your changes were successfully saved!"

The box I unchecked next to "Enable Link Contact Forms" is automatically checked again.

Did I do this right or is there a bug?

Thanks

John

If you think this is a bug, then follow http://www.in-portal.org/contribute/testing-reporting-bugs.html procedure and report it on Confluence http://community.in-portal.org/display/BUG.

Ideally Forums can only be used for questions, but feature requests & bug reports must go to Confluence.

Alex,

I do not know if this is a bug or if I am going thru the right steps to remove the contact form that shows up under the link in the directory. Based on the information I provided, did I go through the proper steps to remove the contact form?

Thanks

John

If you check a checkbox > submit a form > after form submit checkbox is unchecked again, then surely it's a bug. But please follow correct procedure in bug reporting described on mentioned page (e.g. use clean install of latest In-Portal version for testing).

I've tried to reproduce locally (in Firefox, Mac) and all works. I was able to change value of checkbox setting and got green "Your changes were successfully saved!" message on configuration page.

Once unchecked the contact for no longer shows on link detail page in "advanced" theme.

Tested on In-Portal 5.2.1 release.

Alex, thank you for the reply.

Everything I use is Apple and running OSX 10.11 El Capitan. I tried to uncheck and save again with Firefox and Safari, the box always comes back checked. I am also running the latest version of In-Portal.

I will try to uninstall then reinstall the In-Link module then possibly re-install In-Portal. Cannot figure out why it works for you and others but not me.

Question, when I uncheck and and click save, I get this: "Select Module Root Section: Home" Is home the correct Module Root Section correct to save to or do I save to something else?

Can you please do 2 things:

1. record a video (screencast) of how you're changing the setting
2. do a dump of your database
3. send e-mail to "admin at in-portal org" (e-mail written this way to deal with web spiders), that will include:
- database dump
- root user password
